My New Neighbor

Clarice: Hey Andrea! How’s your day going? Wanna hang out later?

Andrea: Heyyy! Yeah, definitely! See you later!

Andrea: Just got home… guess what? We have new neighbors!

Clarice: Wait, really?? Did someone finally buy the house next door?

Andrea: Yeah, a new family moved in yesterday…

Clarice: What are they like?

Andrea: Kinda weird… lol. My parents and I just went over to introduce ourselves…

Clarice: Weird how?

Andrea: There’s an older couple and a girl our age… the adults were super awkward. We went to welcome them, and it felt like they couldn’t wait for us to leave.

Andrea: My parents tried being friendly, but they were really cold—just one-word answers…

Clarice: Bummer! You could’ve gotten a hot neighbor with a killer bod!

Andrea: I know, right? Well, the girl seems nicer… she tried talking more, but her parents kept cutting her off—like they didn’t want her saying much…

Andrea: I liked her…

Andrea: But the weirdest part? She slipped me a piece of paper with her number when no one was looking. It just said, ‘Text me.’

Clarice: Whoa, that’s sketchy…

Andrea: Yeah… well, I’m gonna message her and see what’s up!

Clarice: Okay! Keep me posted! See you later!

Andrea: Hey, are you Lina? I’m Andrea, your neighbor next door.

Lina: Hi! Yeah, that’s me. You texted so fast!

Andrea: Well, I was curious why you slipped me your number like that…

Lina: Yeah… sorry, that was kinda weird.

Lina: Thanks, though, for your family’s welcome earlier…

Andrea: No problem! My parents saw you guys moving in and wanted to be friendly…

Andrea: Hey, why’d you give me your number like that, though? 😅

Lina: I dunno… I guess I wanted someone to talk to here. My family doesn’t like me using my phone much…
