Alex wakes up with no memory of what happened the day before and discovers a harsh reality
Alex: Sam, are you awake?
Alex: Please, say something. I need help, urgently.
Sam: Alex, what’s going on? Why are you texting so late?
Alex: I don’t remember anything from the last few hours, and I’m really starting to freak out.
Sam: What do you mean you don’t remember? Did you drink or take something weird?
Alex: No, nothing like that. I’m just on my couch, and I don’t know how I got here. The last thing I remember is being with you at the café this morning. After that, it’s a complete blank.
Sam: This morning? Alex, that was over 15 hours ago...
Alex: Exactly. I have a total blackout. I don’t know how to explain it. I’m really scared.
Sam: Take a deep breath. I’ll help you. Have you checked your phone, messages, or anything that might give you a clue?
Alex: I’m doing that now, but I don’t see anything unusual. Just a couple of reminders for work, but they’re routine stuff.
Sam: Are you sure you didn’t go out with anyone else after breakfast?
Alex: I don’t know, I don’t think so. I’m checking, but there are no recent chats with anyone else.
Sam: Okay, calm down. Maybe it’s stress or something. Do you want to go to the doctor tomorrow?
Alex: I don’t know. I don’t feel sick, just confused.
Sam: Try to get some sleep. I’ll come see you early tomorrow, okay?
Alex: Okay, thanks. I’ll try to close my eyes.
Alex: Eva, sorry for texting so late. Are you awake?
Eva: Yeah, I was just about to go to sleep. What’s up?
Alex: I need to ask you something important. Did we see or talk to each other today?
Eva: No, we didn’t. Why?
Alex: I have this weird amnesia. I don’t remember anything from the last few hours. I’m trying to figure out what happened.
Eva: Seriously? Are you okay? Do you feel physically sick?
Alex: I’m fine physically. But I’m confused and a little nervous.
Eva: Do you want me to call Sam?
Alex: I already talked to Sam. I just wanted to make sure I didn’t forget we had plans or something.
